ABOUT THIS COURSE

CompTIA Network+ validates the technical skills needed to securely establish, maintain and troubleshoot the essential networks that businesses rely on.

This five-day course helps prepare you for the CompTIA Network+ N10-008 exam which validates the skills required to implement enterprise-level wired and wireless network solutions; identify and troubleshoot network performance issues; and harden networks against threats to mitigate security vulnerabilities.

OBJECTIVES

On successful course completion, students will be able to:

  • Deploy ethernet solutions and configure wireless technologies
  • Monitor and optimise networks to ensure business continuity
  • Explain security concepts and network attacks in order to harden networks against threats
  • Troubleshoot common cable, connectivity, and software issues related to networking

PREREQUISITES

Recommended experience:

  • Completed the training for CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2
  • 1-2 years total IT experience with 9-12 months of hands-on experience working in a network support or network administration role
  • Regardless of whether you have passed A+ or have hands-on experience, it is recommended that you have the following skills and knowledge before starting this course:
    • Configure and support PC, laptop, mobile (smartphone / tablet), and print devices
    • Know basic network terminology and functions (such as Ethernet, TCP/IP, switches, routers)
    • Configure and manage users, groups, and shared resources in a simple SOHO network
    • Understand the use of basic access control measures, such as authentication, security policy, encryption, and firewalls
    • Understand TCP/IP addressing, core protocols and troubleshooting tools
